Pocklington School hosted Strokerite’s specialist Swim Clinic on Sunday 27th March 2022.
Leading the workshop was Team GB’s Jay Lelliot who impressed the attendees with the skills, drills, starts and turns, which helped him become an international fly swimmer.
During a fun packed day, 32 participants undertook 2 pool sessions and 2 educational workshops.
The morning sessions covered stroke efficiency and drills and techniques. The afternoon was more focused on developing race skills, focusing on starts and turns with many interesting drills and skills for them to pick up along the way.
Dave Legge from Strokerite said: “Thanks to Pocklington School and the wonderful organisation by Stef Ryan, Technical Manager, we had a great day. The day was led by our lead coach, Team GB’s Nathan Hilton from Nova Centurion Swimming Club, and the workshops were delivered by GB coach Roy Shepherdson from Kingston Upon Hull Swimming Club. Team GB’s Jay Lelliott undertook pool demonstrations to the swimmers and coached them throughout the day.”
Janet Knott, Deputy Bursar, Pocklington School said: “It was a pleasure to welcome Strokerite’s specialist Swim Clinic to the School, and both our Technical and Premises Teams did a fantastic job of accommodating their requirements. We’re delighted that everyone had a great day and enjoyed the event.”
