Pocklington School U15 rugby team have reached the quarter-final of the National Schools Cup Vase Competition, after winning the Northern Group B final against Worksop College, 36-19.

The quarter-final will be played at Pocklington School against opponents QEGS Penrith on Thursday 1 February 2018.

Pocklington are hoping to take advantage of playing on home turf after much of the tournament so far, has been played at away fixtures.

Mr Wareham, teacher in charge of rugby at Pocklington School said: ‘The boys have done exceedingly well to get this far and it will be great for the team to play their quarter-final match with the support of their home crowd.’

Mr Byas, Director of Sport at Pocklington School said: ‘Last year’s Schools Cup experience, when the U15 team reached the Schools Cup Bowl Final, has been a great inspiration to many of the students coming through the School.  This year’s current achievement is testament to that and also to the hard work the players and the staff have put in, to reach the last eight teams in a national competition.  We wish the boys the very best of luck.’

Parents are welcome to come along and watch the match.  Kick off is at 2.30pm.
