Sixth Form students from Pocklington School tested their entrepreneurial skills when they pitched their business ideas to judges in a Young Enterprise Dragons’ Den style event, ahead of the forthcoming Young Enterprise County Finals.
Two Pocklington School companies have entered the competition this year. Spocksx, a team of six students, have created a sustainable sock company. Bosh Bottle have developed their own carbon neutral drinks bottle and are a team of 12 students.
In a bid to be well prepared for the Young Enterprise County Final, the two teams presented in a recent Young Enterprises Dragons' Den style event, where they received high praise from the Dragons, who included Managing Directors and CEOs from local and national companies. The students were praised for their professional presentation skills and market knowledge.
The Young Enterprise Scheme aims to empower young people to discover, develop and celebrate their skills and potential by experiencing a real-life business scenario.
Gareth Shephard, Head of Economics and Business Studies at Pocklington School said: “I know you will join me in wishing them all the very best as they prepare for the Young Enterprise County Final and thanks to all who have supported them along the way. Students from both companies have demonstrated their initiative, determination and commitment and are now ready to face the judges!”
