Pocklington School Sixth Form student led companies have demonstrated their initiative, determination and commitment through completing entries to the 2020 Young Enterprise Company Competition over the lockdown period.
Two teams from Pocklington School Young Enterprise group entered the competition. Not an unusual event in normal times, but this year quite an achievement.
At the end of the Lent term the Young Enterprise competition was nearing its climax with teams from Pocklington School finishing their sales year and beginning the process of putting together documentation for the Area Final – then schools were closed.
Undaunted by the challenges posed by isolation and more than willing to learn new technologies, the members of the two companies: Hydro Protection; Brad Riley, Oliver Nicholls, Ben Wilkinson and Tom Kirby and T.H.S; Tom George, Henry Johnson and Sam Cooper demonstrated resilience and initiative by not only completing their company reports but also producing company presentations, accessing the invaluable support of their Business Advisor (Old Pocklingtonian - Harry Coates) and creating team videos to fulfil the revised competition requirements. Well done to all!
We must now wait for the next stage of the competition, but whatever the outcome the journey already travelled has been a real learning experience and certainly this is something of which they should be really proud.
