Will Burns (14-16) is one of 10 Yorkshire players to be selected to represent the North U20s at this year's England Counties U20 selection weekend at Derby on the 11th, 12th and 13th May.
The North Selectors and Coaches said that they were very pleased with the skill level and commitment of all the players, making selection very difficult in every position.
Will, who is currently studying a Mathematics Degree at Leeds University, continues to play no. 8 for Driffield RUFC when he is able to, and is in the first team for Leeds University.
He played for the Yorkshire U20s last season and started in the final at Twickenham. They played against Durham County and won, although it felt strange for Will who has many friends in the Durham squad from his previous school before he came to Pocklington.
Will has again been a regular member of the Yorkshire U20s squad this season. They are having another good season and are due to play in the final of the Jason Leonard Cup at Twickenham against Cornwall U20s on Sunday 6 May.
Selection for the North U20s quad is a testament to Will’s dedication and commitment to rugby. He commented: “Of course I'm delighted to be selected and I'm looking forward to the experience of playing for North at the England selection weekend.”
Good luck Will!
