Cerys playing in the harp ensemble

Cerys Rees (15-17) played in a 13-harp ensemble at The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (RWCMD) on 7 December as part of a special concert attended by College Patron His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, in celebration of his 70th birthday.

Harpist Cerys who is studying music at RWCMD said: “The entire harp department came together to form the 13-harp ensemble! We also played a special piece, “Medli” by Jeffrey Howard, for when the Prince arrived. This was played with Anne Denholm, the Royal Harpist who played on the Royal Harp  ?  it was quite spectacular and meant we had 14 harps on stage!

“Prince Charles spoke to us all afterwards and said that he was sorry to tear us away from our studies and that we can blame him if our marks go down this term!”
