Up and coming actor, Hugh Stubbins (00-11) has been cast as Nick Carraway in the UK's longest running immersive show, The Great Gatsby.
After opening in York in 2015, the production has been running in London ever since and now returns to York for a special Christmas season including an extra special New Year’s Eve show and after-party.
The show is described as an immersive adaptation of F Scott Fitzgerald’s seminal jazz-age novel, which puts the audience in the heart of the action. Audience members are encouraged to wear 1920’s dress and slip on their dancing shoes whilst they watch the story unfold around them in this unique and theatrical performance.
Hugh is very excited to be in the show and to be coming back to York for the festive season, he said “I would really love some OPs to pop down and see the show - it really is a one of a kind experience and I’m looking forward to the run.”
Tickets for the show, which runs from 28 November to 5 January at the John CooperStudio @ 41 Monkgate in York, are priced at £19.50 (£15.00 concessions) and can be purchased via the theatre’s website: https://www.yorktheatreroyal.co.uk/tickets.php?id=1541.
On December 31, Jay Gatsby will treat guests to an extra special New Year’s Eve Party. The ticket price of £25 includes an exclusive post show party at a secret location. Come see in the New Year in true Gatsby style!
