Fifteen Old Pocklingtonians graduated from University with First Class Honours degrees this summer, earning themselves a place on the honours boards in the Music School.

The wide range of subjects in which they achieved distinction reflects the diversity of talent nurtured at Pocklington School through its individualised teaching approach.

This year’s First Class Honours students graduated in specialisms as diverse as Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Fashion Contour, Physics with Theoretical Physics, Education and Early Years and International Relations and Global Development.

They graduated from Universities across the country, including University College London, Newcastle, Oxford Brookes, Durham, Leeds Beckett, Imperial College and University of the Arts, London.

Mark Ronan, Pocklington School Headmaster, said: “The fact many of our students go on to achieve First Class degrees in such a wide range of subjects and from many different universities reflects the breadth and depth of the education we offer, as well as our excellent Careers and University Service.

“An Old Pocklingtonian emailed me today with the following: ‘I completed my studies at Pocklington School 6th form in 2011, and I still remain a proud Pocklingtonian. Attending Pock instilled a great ethos within me and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of my studies here.’

“We pride ourselves on recognising and developing each student’s individual talents and interests so they follow the right pathway for them. This year’s First Class graduates will now achieve lasting recognition on our honours boards, and inspire future generations. Well done to all.”
