Year 4 pupil, Oliver Betteridge, set a new Pocklington Prep School U9 School Cross Country record when he competed in the House Cross Country competition just before half term.
The school field became the course for the annual House competition and tested the competitors over a distance just shy of 2000m. Oliver produced a magnificent performance and beat the U9 School Cross Country record by an amazing 22 seconds, taking the record to below eight minutes (7 mins 58 secs).
Russ Parker, Assistant Head (Co-curriculum) at Pocklington Prep School reported: "I didn't think I would see the time of 8mins 20 secs beaten, however, not just to beat it but to take 22 seconds off, is an amazing achievement and follows on from the terrific season Oliver has been having so far."
During last half term, Oliver competed in The Jameson Run at Aysgarth School, the HMC U9 Boys' Cross Country and the Terrington Hall U9 Boys' race, where he finished in 1st place in all three races. Well done on a great season so far!
